The top features a large open space where you can draw, allowing you to freely depict scenes of deepening autumn—such as the Moon Viewing Festival, seasonal autumn delicacies, or messages for Respect for the Aged Day—to create your very own original calendar. It can be widely used for educational play at home, new-semester crafts at daycare centers and kindergartens, and recreational activities at senior care facilities.
Features of This Calendar Coloring Page
- Generous free space for creative expression: In the blank space at the top, children can freely draw whatever they like, including scenes from the Mid-Autumn Festival (such as rabbits, moon-viewing dumplings, and pampas grass), cosmos flowers, red dragonflies, and autumn delicacies like grapes and apples. It also serves as a convenient background for adding portraits or messages to grandparents on Respect for the Aged Day.
- Designs that let you have fun coloring numbers and letters: The year (2027), month (September), day of the week, and date are all presented as white-outlined lettering. You can have fun coloring them in your favorite colors.
- Includes furigana and English translations to support educational development: In addition to kanji, days of the week are listed in hiragana (such as “nich” and “getsu”) and English (such as “Sun” and “Mon”). This design is crafted to help children naturally learn numbers, words, and days of the week through play.
- Simple Layout for Easy Schedule Entry: There’s a memo space below each date where you can write down plans or events. It’s designed to be easy to use as a calendar for managing second-semester school events, long weekends (Silver Week), and extracurricular activity schedules.
Recommended Ideas for Use
1. For drawing scenes of the Moon Viewing Festival or the arrival of autumn
September offers many evocative motifs that capture the changing seasons, such as “the Moon Viewing Festival,” “the full moon and the rabbit,” “pampas grass,” “red dragonflies,” and “the Seven Herbs of Autumn.” Try drawing the night sky or the moon with crayons or paint to enjoy the atmosphere of autumn.
2. For fall arts and crafts projects at daycare or kindergarten, or as gifts for Respect for the Aged Day
These sheets are perfect for monthly art projects to mark the start of the second semester. They’re also very popular as backing paper for projects like grapes made with torn-paper collage or origami moon-viewing rice dumplings, as well as for portraits of grandparents to give as gifts for Respect for the Aged Day.
3. For recreational activities at day care centers and senior living facilities
The clean date frames and large text help improve fine motor skills and support reminiscence therapy and orientation maintenance by evoking seasonal memories. It’s also recommended as an activity for coloring while sharing stories about fall flavors and moon-viewing memories, or for writing down upcoming fall event schedules.
Printing and Usage Tips
When printing, please set the printer to A4 paper (portrait orientation). You can easily enjoy this activity using everyday art supplies such as colored pencils, crayons, and markers. If you’re using paint or markers, or creating a collage by pasting origami or photos, printing on slightly thicker paper (such as heavy-weight art paper or drawing paper) will prevent the ink from bleeding through and ensure a clean finish.
