This is a blank calendar coloring sheet featuring the date “May 2027,” designed for you to freely enjoy drawing illustrations and other artwork. The top section includes a large open space where you can draw, allowing you to create your very own original calendar by freely depicting seasonal scenes such as carp streamers, Mother’s Day, and the fresh greenery of early summer. It can be widely used for educational play at home, seasonal arts and crafts projects at daycare centers and kindergartens, and recreational activities at senior care facilities.
Features of This Calendar Coloring Page
- Generous free space for creative expression: In the blank space at the top, children can draw whatever they like or depict motifs unique to May, such as carp streamers, samurai helmets (kabuto), carnations, and strawberries. It also serves as a convenient craft background for pasting family photos or origami creations.
- Designs for coloring numbers and text: The year (2027), month (May), days of the week, and dates are all presented as white-outlined lettering. Children can have fun coloring them in their favorite colors.
- Includes furigana and English labels to support educational development: In addition to kanji, days of the week are labeled with hiragana (such as “nich” and “getsu”) and English words (“Sun” and “Mon”). This design helps children naturally learn numbers, words, and the days of the week through play.
- Simple Layout for Easy Schedule Entry: There’s a memo space below each date where you can write down plans or events, making it easy to use as a calendar for planning Golden Week trips or managing family schedules.
Recommended Ideas for Use
1. For drawing pictures with themes like Children’s Day or Mother’s Day
May is a season packed with events, such as “Children’s Day” (koinobori, kashiwa-mochi, and kabuto helmets) and “Mother’s Day” (carnations). Try adding a “Thank you” message for Mom or drawing dynamic koinobori swimming across the sky.
2. For art projects and gifts at daycare centers and kindergartens
These sheets are perfect as a base for commemorative projects for Mother’s Day and Children’s Day—not only for children’s free-style drawings but also for art projects where handprints and footprints are used as carp streamer scales, or where origami carnations are glued on.
3. For recreational activities at day care centers and senior care facilities
The clean date frames and large text help with fine motor skills exercises and serve as a tool for reminiscence therapy and maintaining orientation by evoking a sense of the season. It’s also perfect for activities where residents write down their plans for long weekends or this month’s goals and display them in the room.
Printing and Usage Tips
When printing, please set the printer to A4 paper (portrait orientation). You can easily enjoy this activity using everyday art supplies such as colored pencils, crayons, and markers. If you plan to use paint or markers, or create a collage by pasting origami or photos, printing on slightly thicker paper (such as heavy-weight art paper or Kent paper) will result in a sturdier and more polished finish.

They are available as A4-sized PNG files, so you can print them right away and use them as coloring pages.
