Celebrate Summer and Learn Japanese with Our July 2026 Calendar
Welcome to the height of summer! This July 2026 calendar coloring page is designed to help you organize your month while diving deep into Japanese language and summer traditions.
Japanese Vocabulary: Summer Fun
Try to practice these Japanese words while you color your calendar:
- Natsu (夏): Summer
- Umi (海): Sea or Ocean (Celebrated on July 20th, Umi no Hi / Marine Day)
- Yasumi (休み): Holiday or Vacation (Natsu Yasumi means Summer Vacation!)
Cultural Highlight: Tanabata (七夕)
On July 7th, Japan celebrates Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival. According to legend, the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega and Altair) are allowed to meet only once a year across the Milky Way. To celebrate, people write their wishes on colorful strips of paper called Tanzaku and hang them on bamboo branches.
Why not draw your own Tanzaku and bamboo on the edges of this calendar? Download this printable sheet and start your summer learning adventure!
