What is an Irritator?

The Irritator was a carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period in what is now Brazil. As a relative of the famous Spinosaurus, it had a long, crocodile-like snout ideal for catching fish and a distinctive sail on its back. Interestingly, it got its name because scientists found the original fossil heavily modified by collectors, making it highly “irritating” to restore and study!
